TV MONITOR: Last night's 10:30pm ET (late due to NCAA football) 90-minute edition of ESPN's "SportsCenter" led with a report on the MLB labor negotiations, followed by Rockies-Giants. The first non-MLB report, at 15:18 into the broadcast, was Patriots-Redskins preseason football.
ON THE AIR: All of the network morning shows today teased their programs with the MLB labor situation. All three also reported on the issue. CNBC will have numerous tennis-related guests on today including: IMG Chair Mark McCormack, Dunlop Sports Group Americas CEO Gordon Boggis, Tennis Magazine President Jack Laschever, ESPN analyst Luke Jensen; Lleyton Hewitt, Prince's Alistair Thorburn, Patrick McEnroe, and Pam Shriver. Comets F Sheryl Swoopes, tennis analyst Bud Collins, Chargers QB Drew Brees will be on "Best Damn Sports Show Period."
