Snowboard Federation Melts Away After Ten Years Of Pro Tours
Published June 28, 2002
The Int'l Snowboard Federation (ISF) "has declared insolvency after 10 years at the cutting edge of the winter sport," according to James Christie of the Toronto GLOBE & MAIL. The ISF had the first prize-money pro circuit for snowboarders, but "faded after the [IOC] chose to recognize [the Int'l Ski Federation] as the sport's international federation when snowboarding was included in the Olympic Games at Nagano" in '98 (Toronto GLOBE & MAIL, 6/28).
