Univ. Of GA Football Coach Richt Gets Contract Extension
Published January 31, 2002
The ATLANTA CONSTITUTION's Plott Brice reported that the Univ. of GA (UG) "has given football coach Mark Richt a one-year contract extension and a $50,000 raise." UG also approved "a $5 football ticket price increase that was discussed at a board meeting last spring." With the increase, tickets will now cost $32, with student tickets also seeing a bump from $5 to $6. Richt's new deal gives him "a financial package" worth $800,000 annually for five years. UG AD Vince Dooley said "ticket prices at eight SEC schools are more than $30," with the Univ. of TN having the highest-priced ticket at $38 (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 1/30).
