Boston Economy Sees Benefits From Baseball Winter Meetings
Published December 13, 2001
Greater Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau President Patrick Moscaritolo said that the Minor League Baseball meetings and a baseball trade show starting today are "expected to generate [$4M] in visitor spending," according to Greg Gatlin of the BOSTON HERALD. Over 3,000 attendees are expected for the meetings, compared to about 850 attendees that generated an estimated [$1.4M] in visitor spending during the [MLB] meetings that end today. Gatlin: "Many of those Major Leaguers are expected to stick around [for the Minor League meetings]" (BOSTON HERALD, 12/13).
