Lions To Sell Naming Rights For New Training Facility
Published December 13, 2001
The Lions are selling the naming rights to their new, $35M training facility and HQs, according to Neal Haldane of the DETROIT NEWS, who reports that a company "could affix its name to the broadcast studio, the indoor practice field, or the entire complex." Lions President of Special Projects Kent Newhart said, "We want to be creative. The whole naming rights scenario can be mixed and matched." Newhart noted the Eagles' NovaCare Complex that opened in March as an example the team used when designing the facility. Newhart: "We studied what they did and made improvements. We asked, `Can we do it better?'" (DETROIT NEWS, 12/13).
