The N.Y. 2012 Olympic Bid Committee has won the bid to stage an int'l athletic competition the committee hopes will demonstrate its competency as a world class planner and presenter of athletic competitions. Coming in '03 to N.Y.'s Van Cortlandt Park will be the World Outdoor Target Archery Championships. N.Y. 2012 previously won a bid to stage the World Championships of Wrestling, but the event was later moved to Europe after the September 11 terrorist attacks. N.Y. is one of four U.S. cities still bidding for the 2012 Games, along with Washington-Baltimore, S.F. and Houston.
