HOST RESTRUCTURES: Host Communications announced the company's event and association management businesses strategically are coming together under the same operational umbrella, entitled "Host Affinity & Events." The move combines Host's grassroots, participatory sports properties, including Hoop-It-Up, Roundball Ruckus, Got Milk? and 3v3 Soccer Shootout, with its association management and convention and hospitality business. Prior to this, the sports events operated as "Host Events & Experiences," with the latter business under the name, "Affinity Management International." Exec VP SAM DUNN, who previously was Dir of the Association Management division, will oversee the "Host Affinity & Events" division, which includes sports events, event management and association management. Senior VP DAN CRAMER, who previously directed much of the company's grassroots business from the Denver office, will oversee the sports event area (Host Communications).

EXECS: The U.S. Professional Volleyball league named SUSAN SMITH COO and named CONRAD VAN HAZEBROECK Treasurer & CFO (N.Y. TIMES, 8/21)....The ECHL Augusta Lynx named KYLE SCHULTZ as Assistant GM & Dir of Communications (Mult., 8/19). Schultz will also be the team's play-by-play voice, replacing JERRY CANAAN. Previously, Schultz was the ECHL Tallahassee Tiger Sharks broadcaster (AUGUSTA CHRONICLE, 8/18)....The WCHL CO Gold Kings promoted former Dir of Hockey Communications JACK MICHAELS to Assistant Dir of Marketing. Dir of Community Relations DANA COSTA will also serve as Dir of Game Operations for the upcoming season. KIM TATSCH was named Marketing Exec (Gold Kings)....The Univ. of CA named MARK STEPHENS as Exec Associate AD/Operations & Chief of Staff, DANIEL COONAN as Exec Associate AD/Revenue, BOB ROSE as Exec Associate AD/Communications and TERESA KUEHN as Exec Associate AD/Olympic Sports. The school promoted KEVIN ANDERSON to Exec Associate AD/External Affairs and TOM BOWEN to Associate AD/Development (Mult., 8/19)....FSN's "Midwest Sports Report" named PAT PARRIS as anchor, beginning September 5. Parris replaces ROB NIKOLESKI, whose contract was not renewed (ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH, 8/20)....The Redskins named MARK KESSLER as their new stadium announcer at FedEx Field. Kessler is currently the morning show host for WARW-FM (Redskins).
