Going Ape: Reebok Cross Promotes With Planet Of The Apes
Published July 12, 2001
Reebok and Twentieth Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising announced a "Planet of the Apes" promotional partnership, which includes an "Apes"-inspired ad featuring the film's Ape Commander as Evolved Classic, wearing a pair of Reebok athletic shoes. The effort is part of Reebok's current print ad campaign, and also touts the new Tim Burton film, which hits theaters July 27. Ads, headlined "Evolved Classic," feature a black and white portrait of Ape Commander as a classic warrior revisiting the world in the guise of his new "Apes" role (Reebok).
