TV MONITOR: Last night's 10:30pm ET 30-minute edition of FSN's "National Sports Report" led with Magic-Bucks, followed by an injury update on Jazz G John Starks. The first non-NBA report, at 2:49 into the broadcast, was Twins-Red Sox. "NSR" had 8:29 of total NBA coverage. Last night's 11:00pm ET 60-minute edition of ESPN's "SportsCenter" led with Twins-Red Sox, followed by Mariners-Yankees. The first non-MLB report, at 4:56, was Magic-Bucks. "SportsCenter" had 13:52 of NBA coverage. Last night's 11:00pm ET 30-minute edition of CNN/SI's "Sports Tonight" led with Magic-Bucks, followed by Suns-Kings. The first non-NBA report, at 3:35, was Twins-Red Sox. "Sports Tonight" had 6:10 of total NBA coverage (THE DAILY).
THE GUEST LIST: Tonight, CBS' "48 Hours" will present a feature that includes NASCAR driver Kyle Petty. Also, NASCAR driver Sterling Marlin will be on ESPN's "Up Close." Mavericks Owner Mark Cuban will be on "The Last Word."
NOTES: In S.F., Tommy Cummings wrote MLB.com will launch two new features within a week: synchronized statistics as an enhancement to its audio subscription and subscription video. MLB Advanced Media CEO Bob Bowman, on the site's recent glitches: "We had some flat-out humiliating experiences." But Cummings noted MLB.com "appears to be showing some progress" (S.F. CHRONICLE, 4/25)....The Sporting News (TSN) and CBS NFL analyst Craig James, who founded Coaches & Players Integrated, have launched a joint venture to produce audio and video programming for radio, Internet and interactive TV distribution. The venture will be the initial provider of sports information to Yahoo! Broadcast (TSN)....In N.Y., Richard Huff writes, "Americans are more in love than ever with television." Nielsen reports that "on a typical day, in a typical home, the TV set is on for nearly eight hours." The most recent research showed that adult women watched five hours, 4 minutes of TV per day, while adult men watched four hours, 31 minutes per day (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 4/26).
