          TNN Motorsports announcer STEVE EVANS died of natural
     causes Wednesday in his hotel room in Las Vegas, where he
     was covering the Pennzoil World of Outlaws Series.  Evans
     had been with TNN Motorsports since '83 (TNN).  TNN Dir of
     Motorsports Mark Kuchan said Evans' "legacy at TNN will
     never be forgotten" (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 11/3).
          OTHER NAMES: The seventh ESPNZONE will open in the NEW
     YORK-NEW YORK HOTEL & CASINO in Las Vegas next summer
     (ESPNZone)....In Atlanta, Jenn Hildreth writes that EVANDER
     HOLYFIELD appeared at Buckhead's ESPNZONE last night "to
     help introduce" the premiere of his documentary: "CHAMPION:
     A DOCUMENTARY ABOUT THE SPORT AND BUSINESS OF BOXING AND THE
     CAREER OF EVANDER HOLYFIELD."  The film was produced and
     directed by three-time Academy Award winner JANA SUE MEMEL. 
     Holyfield's attorney and boxing management adviser, JIM
     THOMAS, said that the documentary will be shown next at film
     festivals (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 11/3)....Phoenix-based
     Stratford American Corp., which includes D'Backs Managing
     General Partner JERRY COLANGELO and team President RICH
     DOZER, "is joining with" Tucson-based developer Diamond
     Ventures and Colonial Development to build a 100,000-square-
     foot office project in north Scottsdale.  The new group,
     called Triway Land Investors, "intends to put up" ten
     single-story office condo buildings to be sold to individual
     users (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 11/3)....Democratic real estate
     broker ROLLIE REYNOLDS, who is running against former Univ.
     of NE football coach/GOP nominee TOM OSBORNE for the U.S.
     House of Rep. seat from NE's Third District: "I ran because
     I thought the race was going to be mostly about agriculture. 
     But instead it's been mostly about football" (DETROIT FREE
     PRESS, 11/3)....Lions Vice Chair WILLIAM CLAY FORD JR., on
     why he chose ROGER PENSKE to lead Detroit's bid for Super
     Bowl XL: "I think he's the most impressive businessman in
     the city.  Everything he touches works because of his
     personal drive and because his attention to detail is so
     exquisite.  I just love being around that guy" (DETROIT
     NEWS, 11/3).....In L.A., J.A. Adande cited singer JEFFREY
     OSBORNE as saying that his "most remarkable" NBA
     accomplishment "might have come" at a past NBA All-Star
     Weekend, when he "claims he got [DAVID STERN] to sing the
     chorus of" Osborne's "You Should Be Mine (The Woo Woo
     Song)."  Stern: "Absolutely.  I was very good" (L.A. TIMES,
     11/2)....76ers President Pat Croce's new book, "I FEEL GREAT
     AND YOU WILL TOO," is No. 15 on the N.Y. Times Bestseller
     List (Mult., 11/3).
