EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

          USOC PICKS KEY LIAISON: The USOC named '88 Olympic
     freestyle wrestler JIM SCHERR as Senior Managing Dir for
     Sport Resources.  Scherr has been Exec Dir of USA Wrestling
     since '90 (USOC).  In CO Springs, Lynn Zinser reports that
     Scherr will help bridge "a critical gap to the groups most
     unhappy with the USOC's reform process in the past 10
     months," as he will be responsible for working with the NGBs
     and athletes -- the "two groups critical of the stormy reign
     of former CEO NORM BLAKE" (CO Springs GAZETTE, 11/21).
          OTHER MOVES: The ATP Tour named RICHARD INGS as Exec
     VP/Rules & Competition.  Ings is currently GM of PepsiCo's
     snack food and beverage retail vending business in
     Australia.  Ings will relocate to the ATP's Int'l
     Headquarters in FL (ATP)....Former Interbrand exec JASON
     DANAHY was named Dir of Marketing for the XFL's Hitmen
     (BRANDWEEK, 11/20)....The ECHL named JACK CARNEFIX as Dir of
     Communications and promoted DIANA DANFORTH to Assistant Dir
     of Communications.  Carnefix spent the last six years as Dir
     of Communications for Boise-based Diamond Sports (ECHL).
     ...Arlington Park named JULIE BROWNING as Dir of Group Sales
     & Events (THE DAILY)....Florida Times-Union NFL writer PETE
     PRISCO will join CBS SportsLine, where he will primarily
     cover FL's NFL teams (FLORIDA TIMES-UNION, 11/19).
