ISL VETOES PLANS TO ACQUIRE NCAA TOURNEY MARKETING RIGHTS

CBS' plan to "offset a portion" of its $6B, 11-year
NCAA deal -- beginning in 2003 -- with $800M from Swiss-
based ISL for corporate marketing rights "fell through" when
ISL's BOD "turned down the deal," according to USA TODAY's
Rudy Martzke. CBS Sports President Sean McManus: "It's
disappointing not to have the money guaranteed, but it's not
going to affect the financial viability of the deal."
McManus said CBS might sell the marketing rights with
     sponsorship deals (USA TODAY, 11/20).
