MEDIA NOTES

          TV MONITOR: Last night's 10:00pm ET 60-minute edition
     of FSN's "The Keith Olbermann Evening News" led with Tiger
     Woods' dispute with the PGA Tour, followed by Rams-Giants. 
     The first report on the AmEx World Golf Championship was at
     10:09 into the broadcast.  "Olbermann" had 14:41 of total
     NFL coverage.  Last night's 11:00pm ET 30-minute edition of
     CNN/SI's "Sports Tonight" led with Rams-Giants, followed by
     Saints-Panthers.  The first non-NFL report, at 7:44, was
     Rockets-Lakers.  The first report on the AmEx WGC was at
     9:41.  "Sports Tonight" had 13:54 of total NFL coverage. 
     Last night's 11:30pm ET 60-minute edition of ESPN's
     "SportsCenter" led with Jets-Colts, followed by Bears-Bills. 
     The first non-NFL report, at 12:06, was the AmEx WGC.
     "SportsCenter" had 29:02 of total NFL coverage (THE DAILY).
          BROADBAND/ESPN.COM DEAL? The SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL's
     Noah Liberman cites sources as saying that CA-based
     Broadband Sports "is nearing a deal" with ESPN Internet
     Group (EIG) to place content from Broadband's AthletesDirect
     on ESPN.com.  EIG "would command an undisclosed fee" from
     Broadband (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 11/13 issue).
          NOTES: SI's Peter King reports that NBC "is talking" to
     MN Gov. Jesse Ventura about "doing color" on its XFL games
     (SI, 11/13 issue)....USA TODAY's Edward Baig writes on video
     technology and notes that the NHL Rangers are among 16 teams
     that have access to a $30,000 database supplied by Ontario-
     based RinkNet.  About 23,000 players in each level of hockey
     are represented in the database.  Baig adds that the Rangers
     are also one of nine NHL teams using a digital-editing
     system called the Hockey System, which is provided by
     Ottawa-based Sports Systems (USA TODAY, 11/13)....USA
     TODAY's Rudy Martzke gives his "comeback" award to CBS
     sideline reporter Jill Arrington, who was criticized by
     Martzke for wearing a black tank top on the sidelines last
     week.  Arrington donned a "conservative" top for Saturday's
     Univ. of SC-Univ. of FL game (USA TODAY, 11/13).
