BROADBAND SPORTS SAYS IT WILL OUTSOURCE ONLY E-COMMERCE

CA-based Broadband Sports Chair & CEO Richard Nanula
issued a statement late yesterday responding to an Industry
Standard report of layoffs at the media company (see THE
DAILY, 11/9): "Layoffs occurred company-wide. Although the
company will outsource a portion of its e-commerce business,
there was never any consideration given to outsourcing its
technology, or any part of its technology, which is a core
function of the company" (THE DAILY).
CLARIFICATION: In yesterday's item from the Industry
Standard, Broadband Sports CMO Laurel Dunlea did not mention
any pending negotiations that Broadband Sports has been
having with outside parties. Any suggestion that she did
was incorrect and THE DAILY regrets the error (THE DAILY).
