NFL Films President Steve Sabol said that he is working
on plans to put the company's entire film archive on the
Web, according to Brendan Schurr of the AP. NFL Senior
VP/New Media Chris Russo said the plan is to offer the
league's archives for free. Russo: "Perhaps down the line
there may be some limited content that would involve
subscription fees, but for the near term we're talking about
free content for fans" (AP/HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 10/15)....NFL
Films Senior Producer Louis Schmidt is finishing a
documentary on "The NFL Today," CBS' pre-game show in the
'70s. He has interviewed "all but one of the surviving"
members, as Brent Musburger is "still bitter over his
firing." The one-hour documentary will air in December on
ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN Classic (Clev. PLAIN DEALER, 10/15).
RIGHT WING FORMATION: Rush Limbaugh discussed the
controversy around him possibly joining ABC's "MNF" booth:
"There's no evidence that I have problems with people of
color. I don't have trouble with people of color. There
were people saying black players will refuse to play if
Limbaugh is in the booth. It's total ca-ca. I know a lot
of black players in the NFL. I know a lot of black
athletes" ("The News With Brian Williams," MSNBC, 10/13).
