MARKETPLACE ROUND-UP

CLASH OF THE TITANS: In Nashville, Paul Kuharsky
examines local businesses leveraging the Titan name. While
some businesses with "Titan in their names existed" in
Middle TN before Titans Owner Bud Adams changed the team's
name in '98, "others have surfaced" since then. Titans
President Jeff Diamond: "I guess that's a compliment, as
long as they aren't using 'Tennessee Titans,' which they
can't do. I don't think there is any doubt that it is a
reflection of the increasing popularity of our team." But
one company did not see any benefits from the affiliation.
Titan Funding changed its name to Evergreen Mortgage in
March '99. Evergreen's Lehman Hailey: "We got a lot of
calls from people asking about cheerleading practice or to
see if we could have a Titan come out to a school fund-
raiser. It was a real waste of time" (TENNESSEAN, 9/29).
NOTES: United Airlines will be showing a variety of
baseball-themed movies on domestic flights during the month

     DAILY)....Former "Survivor" castaway Gervase Peterson
appeared on CBS' "The Early Show" yesterday visiting
Veterans Stadium for a mock tryout with the Eagles.
Peterson wore a Nike windbreaker. Reebok was an official
sponsor of "Survivor," and Gervase was often seen on the
show wearing Reebok apparel (THE DAILY)....Orlando-based
Entry Media has contracted with the Hurricanes and the
Tigers to add its Turnstile AdSleeve Armcovers to the
Raleigh Entertainment & Sports Arena and Comerica Park,
respectively. CoreComm will sponsor the Tigers program,

DAILY)....Via a partnership between Princeton Video Image
