NEXT STOP, N.Y.? JAGS SENIOR VP HUYGHUE MAY BE MOVING ON

          Jaguars Senior VP Michael Huyghue "is said to be
     lobbying hard for the position" of NFL President, a post
     vacant since the resignation of Neil Austrian last year,
     according to sources of CBS SportsLine's Len Pasquarelli. 
     Sources said that there "is a good chance" that Huyghue
     "will be among the finalists, if the position is filled." 
     Pasquarelli: "Beyond his proven managerial skills, Huyghue
     is also African-American and, while commissioner Paul
     Tagliabue has done a good job of bringing more minorities to
     the league office, hiring a black official as league
     president would be viewed favorably" (CBS SportsLine, 9/23). 
     On "Monday Night Countdown," ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported
     that Jaguars Chair & CEO Wayne Weaver is "concerned" Huyghue
     "is being rumored for a position high up in the league
     office, perhaps as league President" (ESPN, 9/25).
