NETWORK NEWS OLYMPIC TV MONITOR: NBC FEATURES FIVE REPORTS

          Last night's 6:30pm ET edition of NBC's "Nightly News"
     led with a 0:22 report on the current medal count.  NBC
     featured five other reports on the Games: at 8:08 into the
     broadcast, a 0:28 highlight of "Greatest Olympic Moments; at
     11:01, a 1:09 report on "unlikely [Olympic] stars," followed
     by a 3:03 report on Guinean swimmer Eric Moussambani; at
     22:00, a 0:17 graphic of women in the 1900 Paris Olympics
     (19 women in 2 events) compared to the Sydney Games (4,400
     in 120 events); and at 25:10, a 3:31 report on U.S.
     weightlifter Cheryl Haworth.  Last night's 6:30pm ET edition
     of ABC's "World News Tonight" first reported on the Olympics
     at 24:29 with a 0:37 report on the day's results and current
     medal count, followed by a 0:34 report on Moussambani.  Last
     night's 7:00pm ET edition of the "CBS Evening News" did not
     report on the Olympics (THE DAILY).
