          U.S. OPEN: CBS' coverage of the U.S. Open men's final
     on Sunday was down 33% from a 6.3/13 in '99.  Saturday's
     women's final was down 8% from a 6.3/16 in '99 (CBS).
          NFL: CBS' is averaging a 8.7/21 for its NFL coverage
     after two weeks, down 18% from last year's 10.6/24 for the
     same point of the season....Fox is averaging a 10.6/24, up
     3% from a two-week average of 10.3/23 in '99 (THE DAILY).
          NOTES: Through 16 weeks, "MLB on Fox" is averaging a
     2.8/9, down 7% from last season's 3.0/9 through the same
     point in the season (THE DAILY)....NBC's two-game average
     for Univ. of Notre Dame football is 4.6/13, up 48% from a
     3.1/9 in '99.  NBC's second Notre Dame broadcast was up 77%
     from a 3.1/9 last year (NBC).
