SPARRING MATCH BETWEEN FALK/IVERSON TAKES ANOTHER TWIST

          SFX has filed claims with the NBPA "seeking payment of
     the fees it believes are due" for SFX Sports Group Chair
     DAVID FALK negotiating the six-year, $70.875M contract 76ers
     G ALLEN IVERSON signed in January '99, according to Phil
     Jasner of the PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS.  Meanwhile, Iverson 
     -- through attorneys LARRY WOODWARD and TOM SHUTTLEWORTH --
     "is countering with charges" against SFX, "apparently
     dealing with, among other things, tax issues."  The NBA's
     CBA "stipulates that disputes concerning" player-agent
     agreements go to an independent arbitrator chosen by the
     NBPA, cites a source as saying that a hearing before
     arbitrator George Nicolau "would be conducted" March 5 and 6
     in Philadelphia.  Falk negotiated Iverson's contract while
     at FAME, and Iverson "fired" Falk about two months after
     signing the contract.  Iverson has not hired another agent
     to replace Falk (PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS, 9/15).
