STEINER SPORTS SOLD FOR $25M; OCTAGON BUYS MANAGEMENT FIRM

          Steiner Sports Marketing "was bought" by Omnicom Group
     for about $25M, according to Allyson Lieberman of the N.Y.
     POST, who notes that Steiner Sports has exclusive
     collectibles contracts with Yankees SS Derek Jeter and
     manager Joe Torre, NHL Rangers C Mark Messier and Mia Hamm. 
     Steiner Sports Chair Brandon Steiner, on the deal: "This is
     a dream come true for me.  Because Omnicom handles some of
     the premier companies in the world, we'll have full access
     in introducing our product line to them."  Lieberman notes
     that Steiner founded the company in '87 as a "one-man shop
     and built it into an industry leader" with gross revenues in
     excess of $20M last year (N.Y. POST, 9/15).
