BCA PROMOTERS SCRAMBLING TO FIND REPLACEMENT FOR GA TECH

The Gazelle Group, the Black Coaches Association's (BCA) NJ-based promoter, yesterday said that it "was seeking an alternative opponent" for GA Tech to play VA Tech on December 1 to make up for the team's game that was postponed Sunday night due to inclement weather, according to Mike Harris of the RICHMOND TIMES-DISPATCH. Sources said that VA Tech "is willing to play" on December 1 and Harris notes that the game "is expected to raise" $300,000 for the BCA, a nonprofit organization that "promotes minority hiring in university athletic departments" (TIMES-DISPATCH, 8/31).
