          For broadcast numbers, one ratings point = 1,008,000
     homes.  For cable, "COV AREA" = % of homes tuned in to that
     program in that network's universe of subscribers.
          NO EVENT GETS IMMUNITY: ABC's coverage of Arena Bowl
     XIV was down 20% from last season's 1.5/5, which featured
     the Predators-Firebirds (ABC)....CBS' coverage of the
     American Bowl in Mexico City was down 28% from last year's
     5.8/12, which featured the Broncos-Chargers from Sydney
     (CBS)....For its two afternoon NFL preseason games, Fox
     averaged a 4.4/10, down 25% from last year's 5.9/12 for two
     prime-time broadcasts (Fox)....NBC's season-to-date rating
     for thirteen WNBA telecasts over eleven weekends is 1.4,
     down 13% from '99's 1.6 rating at the same point.  NBC's
     rating for Saturday's second-round playoff game was down 40%
     from '99's 2.0/5 (NBC)....Through 13 telecasts, "MLB on Fox"
     is averaging a 3.0/9, down 3% from last year's 3.1/10
     through the same amount of broadcasts (Fox)....USA TODAY's
     Rudy Martzke notes that the 1.0/3 for the X Games on ABC
     Saturday was down 23% from last year (USA TODAY, 8/25). 
          PGA: CBS' two-day coverage of the PGA Championship
     averaged a 7.1/19, up 27% from a 5.6/12 in '99, and was the
     highest-rated PGA Championship ever.  Sunday's final-round
     coverage was up 28% over '99, which earned a 6.9/18 (ABC).
