HOOPS ROUND-UP: CBA INKS TWO SPONSORS; PHONEFREE RE-UPS

          The CBA has named N.Y.-based Rim Rocka as the designer
     and manufacturer of the league's uniforms and official
     products for the 2000-01 season.  The company will also
     design uniforms and apparel for the CBA All-Star Tour line. 
     In addition, Rim Rocka will supply T-shirts, hats, replica
     jerseys and shorts to the CBA (CBA).  TX-based N.E.X.T Up
     Footwear has signed an agreement with the CBA that will make
     it the league's official shoe supplier (CBA).
          NEWS & NOTES: PhoneFree.com has extended its marketing
     partnership with MSG, MSG Network, the Knicks and Rangers
     through the 2000-01 season.  The deal also includes ads
     during Jets games on MSG Radio and Devils games on FSN N.Y.
     (PhoneFree)....NJ-based Valley National Bank will continue
     to be a sponsor of the Nets Corporate Community Partnership
     Program.  Valley will sponsor a block of ten tickets to each
     Nets home game during the 2000-01 season (Valley National
     Bank)....TX-based AIM Technologies signed an agreement to
     bring its FanCard.net program to the Rockers, marking the
     company's first WNBA deal (AIM Technologies).
          MAVS: In Ft. Worth, Sean Wood reports that the
     Mavericks' new logo (see THE DAILY, 6/2) will feature a
     "horse instead of a cowboy hat and swaps the team's green,
     blue and white color combination with a black, blue and
     silver scheme."  Team officials will meet with NBA and Nike
     execs next week to "review the first round of creative work
     on the new look" (FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM, 8/18).  The Mavs
     have hired TX-based Asher Media to provide sports marketing
     consulting, media planning and buying (Asher Media).
