          One-hundred "CEO-types", Internet start-up
     "whippersnappers," stockbrokers, doctors, attorneys and
     execs paid $15,000 each for MICHAEL JORDAN's four-day
     basketball camp in Las Vegas.  During the camp, Jordan plays
     in scrimmages, challenges campers to free-throw shooting
     contests and "hobnobs with his new friends" (USA TODAY,
     8/16).....Execs from MAGIC JOHNSON's development company
     will visit Jacksonville in the first step of a proposed $10M
     development package.  The package would include a movie
     theater, coffee shop and restaurant (FLORIDA TIMES-UNION,
     8/16)...Former 49ers RB ROGER CRAIG, who is Dir of Business
     Development for software firm Tibco, has "secured lucrative
     contracts" for the company and is being "rewarded" with a
     six-figure salary and "several thousand shares of stock"
     (RED HERRING, 9/2000 issue)....Actor and producer RICHARD
     DREYFUSS will serve as the Grand Marshal and honorary
     starter for the 46th annual NHRA U.S. Nationals (NHRA)....In
     N.Y., Geraldine Fabrikant reports that former BET CFO DWIGHT
     CRAWFORD "is set" to file a wrongful termination lawsuit in
     DC today contending that  BET, Chair ROBERT JOHNSON and
     President DEBRA LEE "made extensive efforts to evade the
     payment of some taxes."  Crawford "is seeking" $21M in
     damages for "financial loss and emotional distress" (N.Y.
     TIMES, 8/16)....Jay Leno, on the Firestone tire recall:
     "Give you an idea how bad it's getting, today over at ESPN,
     they recalled ROY FIRESTONE" (NBC, 8/15).
