          This season's seventh episode of ARLI$$ airs on HBO
     Sunday at 9:30pm ET and will replay July 25 at 11:30pm, July
     26 at 9:30pm and July 28 at 1:00am.  Guests on the show will
     be NFL Giants DE JESSE ARMSTEAD, Rockets G STEVE FRANCIS,
     former NFLer KEVIN GREENE and PAT O'BRIEN (Arli$$)....In
     L.A., Bill Christine writes that thoroughbred owner ALLEN
     PAULSON died Wednesday night of cancer.  He was 78.  Paulson
     owned CIGAR, who won 16 straight races from '94-96 (L.A.
     TIMES, 7/21)....Orioles 3B CAL RIPKEN JR., his wife KELLY, 
     Baltimore native ANDREW SILVERMAN and other partners have
     "agreed to lease" a 6,643-square-foot space at Green Spring
     Station in Baltimore County and plan to open a "still-
     unnamed" restaurant there in late November.  Silverman said
     that he "envisions" operating several crab and seafood
     restaurants with Ripken, but that their first venture "will
     be an American-style bar and grill" (Baltimore SUN,
     7/21)....On CBS' "Late Show" last night, the Top Ten List
     was, "Top Ten Ways To Make The TOUR DE FRANCE More
     Exciting."  6) Goodbye Gatorade, hello Jack and Coke.  2)
     Here's all you need to make it exciting ("Late Show" showed
     video of Anna Kournikova).  1) Make it the Tour de South
     Bronx (CBS, 7/20)....There will be a memorial service for
     HARRY USHER, GM of the '84 Olympics, in N.Y. Monday at The
     Rainbow Room, 30 Rockefeller Plaza, from 11:00am-2:00pm.

On this week’s pod, SBJ’s Austin Karp has two Big Get interviews. The first is with TNT’s Stan Van Gundy as he breaks down the NBA Playoffs from the booth. Later in the show, we hear from ESPN’s VP of Programming and Acquisitions Tim Reed as the NFL Draft gets set to kick off on Thursday night in Motown. SBJ’s Tom Friend also joins the show to share his insights into NBA viewership trends.
