EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

          The Cubs relieved GM ED LYNCH "of his duties and
     reassigned him to an unspecified role that will include
     scouting, talent evaluating and some contract work."  Cubs
     President ANDY MACPHAIL will assume the GM responsibilities
     (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 7/20)....Octagon named BRUCE ZALBE as
     Senior Marketing Exec and DREW JOHNSON as PR Coordinator in
     the Athlete Representation division.  Zalbe was Founder &
     President of sports & entertainment marketing and consultancy
     agency Hot Events and Johnson spent the last two years in the
     PR department for the Redskins and Capitals (THE DAILY)....In
     St. Paul, Charley Walters reports that T'Wolves Assistant
     Manager of PR/Communications JIM LABUMBARD is leaving to
     become Manager of Media Relations for the Raptors (ST. PAUL
     PIONEER PRESS, 7/20)....The MLS Burn named former player
     BRIAN HAYNES as the team's Manager of Community Programs and
     Team Liaison (FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM, 7/20)....Internet
     consultant MICHAEL CALDERON was named Dir of New Media at
     One-On-One Sports (BROADCASTING & CABLE, 7/17 issue)....The
     WWF named HOWARD MELTZER as COO-New Media.  Meltzer spent
     over 20 years with Reuters, including the position of
     VP/Business Operations and Central District for Reuters'
     Chicago office.  The WWF also named TOM GIBBONS to the newly
     created position of VP/Investor Relations (WWF)....ISC's
     catering, food and beverage concessions and merchandising
     subsidiary, Americrown Service Corp. (ACS), is restructuring
     and will now operate all food and concessions activities out
     of two hubs, which recently operated only out of Daytona
     Beach.  ASC promoted JAN TAYLOR to VP/Southeast Hub and named
     MICHAEL PRINTUP as VP/Midwest Hub.  Printup spent 14 years
     with Sport Service Corp.  TERRY BASSETT, relocating from
     Michigan to Daytona, was named VP/Merchandise (ISC)....FSN OH
     Communications Manager KIM MCCARTY has joined the Cleveland
     Museum of Art as Corporate Relations Manager (PLAIN DEALER,
     7/19)....Strategic Sports Group named EVAN BASHOFF as Account
     Exec (SSG)....Former Thrashers Media Relations staff member
     JASON BROWN has become a PR Assistant for FSN South (FSN).
