          GOLF: CA-based Ashworth will launch a new image
     campaign around Fred Couples and his wife, Thais.  The
     campaign will feature the Couples, along with other Ashworth
     endorsers, at locations throughout the world.  The first ad
     was shot at St. Andrews, Scotland, to coincide with next
     week's British Open (Ashworth).  Ashworth has reached a deal
     with the USGA to serve as the lead apparel vendor for the
     next four U.S. Opens.  Under the deal, Ashworth will provide
     uniforms for volunteers, as well as merchandise and fixtures
     for the Merchandise Pavilion (Ashworth).
          PRESENTING SPONSOR WANTED: Ken Berry, Dir of Game-Day
     Operations for the Silicon Valley Football Classic, which
     debuts New Year's Eve at Spartan Stadium, said that the
     game's radio deal with KNBR-AM "should help bring aboard a
     naming sponsor."  Berry, on whether the bowl will try to
     sign a title or presenting sponsor: "We're leaning toward
     presented by" (SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS, 7/13).
          WANT MY ORANGE CRUSH: Officially licensed Univ. of TN
     "Tennessee Orange" paint will be unveiled tomorrow at four
     Home Depot stores in Knoxville.  The product, developed by
     Castles Sport Premium Collegiate Colors, will retail for
     $24.99 a gallon (KNOXVILLE NEWS-SENTINEL, 7/14).
