DID START-UP SPORTS AGENCY LAND THE NEXT TIGER WOODS?

Hambric Sports Management, the "start-up agency"
founded by Cornerstone Sports Founder ROCKY HAMBRIC, "beat
out" Gaylord Sports (formerly Cornerstone), as well as
"other established agencies," to sign CHARLES HOWELL, golf's
current "hot name" on the Buy.com Tour to a five-year
representation deal, according to Ron Sirak of GOLF WORLD
BUSINESS. The "next step" for Hambric and Howell is to
obtain sponsor's exemptions for PGA Tour events and to sign
a club endorsement deal. While Ping "appears to be the
front-runner" for an equipment deal, Callaway is "also said
to be making a bid" (GOLF WORLD BUSINESS, 7/10 issue).
