WNBA HAS FOOT IN THE DOOR, INKS DEAL WITH FOOT LOCKER BRANDS

The WNBA signed a multi-year marketing partnership
making Foot Locker, Lady Foot Locker and Kids Foot Locker
official league sponsors. Foot Locker and Lady Foot Locker
will receive in-game units on the league's national TV
network partners -- NBC, ESPN and Lifetime -- as well as on-
court signage at those games. Kids Foot Locker will also
share on-court signage with Lady Foot Locker in nationally
televised games. In addition, the three retailers will
acquire rights to the WNBA league and team logos, footage
and photos in advertising and promotions (WNBA). BRANDWEEK's
Terry Lefton reports that the renewed deal is for three-
years and "lands some WNBA licensed products[s]" at Lady
Foot Locker, which previously had an exclusive distribution
deal via former WNBA licensee Champion. Venator "is
supporting via WNBA-specific ads" for Foot Locker and Lady
Foot Locker stores with a spot that uses Tom Jones' "She's a
Lady" in addition to game footage (BRANDWEEK, 6/26 issue).
