GMAC FINANCIAL INKS $500,000 SPONSORSHIP DEAL FOR BOWL GAME

GMAC Financial Services will co-title sponsor, along
with the city of Mobile, AL, the GMAC Mobile Alabama Bowl,
to be played December 20, 2000 (GMAC). In Mobile, John
Cameron notes that the one-year deal is for $500,000. GMAC
VP/Merchandising, Advertising & Communications Jim Farmer
said, "GMAC is committed to the bowl and we want it to be
right up there with all the other bowls in the nation."
GMAC Mobile Alabama Bowl President Jerry Springstein said,
"Last year, we had an $11 million impact, the greatest
impact of a single-day sporting event in Mobile's history,
and this year will be better." Cameron writes that with the
estimated $1M budget for the game, the contribution from
GMAC "reduces by one-half the amount the city will have to
put up for this year's game" (MOBILE REGISTER, 6/13).
