          THE LATEST RAGE: The Patriots' new uniforms were
     unveiled at Saturday's WBCN-FM "River Rave" concert at
     Foxboro Stadium and in Boston, Jill Radsken wrote that the
     blue on the home jerseys and away-game pants will be a
     darker shade than the old unis and is termed "nautical" blue
     by the team.  Patriots Dir of PR Stacey James: "The concept
     is going back to a New England blue or traditional blue. 
     (The color) makes it more intense" (BOSTON HERALD, 5/28).

          GRANT-ED A TEAM? In Toronto, Matthew Sekeres wrote that
     the prospective ownership group of Transmedia Asia Pacific
     and Transmedia Europe CEO Grant White "reached an agreement
     in principle" for a CFL team in Ottawa.  White's commitment
     "would be in the range of" C$7-10M.  A lease for Frank Clair
     Stadium "must be in place by the end of June" for the team
     to play next year (Toronto GLOBE & MAIL, 5/30).  
          NOTES: New Twins CEO Chris Clouser "had received about"
     630 e-mails "through midday" Saturday since his request for
     input from fans was published.  Clouser, on the content in
     the notes: "Everything from players to peanuts" (St. PAUL
     PIONEER PRESS, 5/28)....Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones and his
     son, Stephen, were in OK City Friday as guests of honor at
     the OK Wranglers AFL game.  Jerry Jones discussed his desire
     to bring an AFL team to the Dallas area in the near future:
     "I'm very impressed with the people who are involved with
     the arena league" (DAILY OKLAHOMAN, 5/30).
