FACILITY NOTES

          Heat Owner Micky Arison has said that the team "will
     not change the color of the seating at AmericanAirlines
     Arena, even though the orange and yellow pattern calls
     attention to empty seats" (MIAMI HERALD, 5/23)....NE-based
     ConAgra has given $2.5M from its foundation to help with
     construction costs for the proposed $281M arena/convention
     center complex in Omaha (OMAHA WORLD-HERALD, 5/23)....In
     Philadelphia, Madhani & Madden write that Camden County, NJ,
     officials announced plans to build a $53M civic center in
     the county that "would be the home of a minor-league hockey
     franchise for which they own developmental rights."  The
     officials added that they may also apply for a CBA team as
     well (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 5/24)....FSN's Jim Rome said
     MLB's "biggest problem right now" is player/fan violence:
     "More has to be done at the ballpark to prevent [a repeat of
     the Dodgers' Wrigley Field incident] from happening. 
     Limiting beer sales, beefing up security, and no, I don't
     mean more guys with yellow windbreakers.  I mean cops with
     guns" ("Last Word," FSN, 5/23)....TNT's Peter Vecsey, on
     Conseco Fieldhouse: "I always thought Madison Square Garden
     was the mecca. ... So, now you're telling me [Conseco
     Fieldhouse] is the Shrine."  TNT's Ernie Johnson replied,
     "This is pretty impressive if you walk around here."  Vecsey
     replied, "If you're into arenas, yeah" ("TNT," 5/23).
