KRZYZEWSKI SAYS COLLEGE GAME SHOULD WATCH NBA'S LEAGUE PLANS

          Duke Univ.'s men's basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski
     said before his induction into the NC Sports Hall of Fame
     last night that a proposed NBA developmental league in 2001
     "could present a new challenge to the college game,"
     according to A.J. Carr of the Raleigh NEWS & OBSERVER. 
     Krzyzewski: "When that league is formed, we will have direct
     competition for that age player.  Some people say, 'Just let
     it happen.'  It will be promoted by the NBA, and it will
     have an impact on our game.  Kids don't have as strong a
     desire to go to school and finish school now.  I also worry
     about what it will do educationally" (Raleigh N&O, 5/18).
