MEDIA NOTES

TV MONITOR: Last night's 10:00pm ET 60-minute edition
of FSN's "The National Sports Report" led with D'Backs-
Expos, followed by Cardinals-Phillies. The first non-MLB
report, at 5:39 into the broadcast, was IN Univ. AD Clarence
Doninger leading the committee which will establish the
guidelines for men's basketball coach Bobby Knight's
behavior. "TNSR" had 8:18 of NBA coverage and 5:34 of NHL
coverage. Last night's 11:00pm ET 30-minute edition of
CNN/SI's "Sports Tonight" and the 11:00pm ET 60-minute
edition of ESPN's "SportsCenter" both led with Jazz-Trail
Blazers, followed by Suns-Lakers. The first non-NBA report
for "Sports Tonight," at 4:03, was Knight, and for
"SportsCenter," at 6:35, was Devils-Flyers. "Sports
Tonight" had 3:49 of NBA coverage and 1:34 of NHL coverage.
"SportsCenter" had 9:19 of NBA coverage and 5:56 of NHL
coverage. Note: Tuesday's schedule had two NBA playoff
games and one NHL playoff game (THE DAILY).
NBA SCHEDULE: In NJ, Adamek & Brennan write that
Friday's Game Six of the Heat-Knicks series, originally
scheduled for 8:00pm ET, has been moved to 9:00pm ET so TNT
can carry both that game and Game Six of the Pacers-76ers
series (with a 6:30pm ET start time) without the games
overlapping. Adamek & Brennan add that the games were
scheduled for Friday, rather than Thursday, in order to
avoid Thursday night's network sweeps, which features season
finales for such shows as "Friends" and "ER" (RECORD, 5/17).
KIDS RULE? In Las Vegas, Ron Kantowksi, on HBO's "KO
Nation": "To say 'KO Nation' has given boxing a new face
might be overstating it. But it sure has given it a goatee
and an earring once a month." Top Rank Boxing Publicist Lee
Samuel, on the show: "I went to the production meeting.
There were a whole bunch of 25-year-old-guys there with
their hats on backward" (LAS VEGAS SUN, 5/16).
