FLAME ON! HOTCHKISS SAYS TICKET DRIVE OFF TO HOT START

Flames Vice Chair Harley Hotchkiss said that the team's
season-ticket sales have "exploded" during the last ten
days, "far exceeding the team's expectations," according to
Mike D'Amour of the CALGARY SUN. The team said that it
would need to sell 5,000 new season tickets for the 17,000-
seat Canadian Airlines Saddledome by June 30, bringing the
season-ticket total to 14,000, or ownership would "be forced
to sell the team." Hotchkiss, on sales since the team's
"public appeal": "In the last 10 days, we have sold 1,006
new season tickets." D'Amour notes that the 14,000 season-
ticket goal includes the current 9,000 season-ticket holders
who have until May 15 to renew (CALGARY SUN, 4/26).
