EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

          NORB GARRETT was named Creative Dir of EMAP Metro's
     Sports Group.  He will direct the editorial and design
     strategies of the group's sports titles, including Sport,
     NFL Insider, SLAM, Surfer, Snowboarder, Skateboarder,
     Powder, Bike and Box.  Garrett previously served as Editor-
     in-Chief of EMAP Metro's Sport magazine since '98. 
     Meanwhile, JOHN ROACH was promoted to Editor of Sport, where
     he served as Exec Editor since early '99 (EMAP). 
          INDUSTRY MOVES: TOM CHIAPPETTA was named Dir of Media
     Relations for Fox Sports Net in N.Y.  He was Dir of
     Communications at Country Music TV (THE DAILY)....STEVE
     WHEELER, a partner with law firm Snell & Wilmer, has been
     elected Chair for the 2001 Fiesta Bowl.  Wheeler began his
     association with the Fiesta Bowl in '78 as a parking
     attendant (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 4/17)....PHIL HOWORT has joined
     Kaleidoscope Sports & Entertainment as Senior VP/Media &
     Programming. Howort was General Sales Manager at WSAW-TV in
     WI (Kaleidoscope)....DC United named CHRIS STOCKTON as Dir
     of Communications and BORIS FLORES as Press Officer. 
     Stockton was Associate SID at George Washington Univ., 
     while Flores was Sports Editor for Spanish-language
     newspaper El Tiempo Latino since October '97 (United).
