FOX SPORTS' NEW PROGRAMMING CONCEPT CENTERS ON INTERACTIVITY

FSN's "National Sports Report" debuted last night with
a revamped design and set-up. FSN's Keith Olbermann,
introducing last night's show: "Hello. Good evening. And
welcome. Live from NEW world headquarters, it's the NEW big
show." FSN's Kevin Frazier's intro: "You know, change is
good, and like Keyshawn Johnson, we've traded in our old
look-and-feel for a new one." Olbermann later said, "We
have met the lead story and it is us. We're going to try to
do something new starting with this program. We're going to
let you do it. Every way we can think to get you involved
via the Internet, we will. Think of Kevin and I as your cab
drivers on the information superhighway of sports."
Frazier, over a shot of FoxSports.com, said, "We're going to
start with the simple stuff: Polls on our Web site and your
e-mails. But here's the deal: we want to know what you may
have to say, whatever it may be. So hook us up with your
thoughts, questions, tips, rants, raves and/or inside info.
We're going to do the same. Translation: more analysis and
more perspective." Olbermann: "We're not going to assume,
like the rest of sports TV, that you do not know what
happened until we have delivered it [to] you from here high
on the mountain. We've installed this ticker here as your
crib notes. Every pro score, every ten minutes, many of
them correct! We call it 'National Sports Report.' It
means we report to you" ("National Sports Report," 4/12).
