MEDIA NOTES

          TV MONITOR: Last night's 10:00pm ET edition of FSN's
     "Fox Sports News" led with Cubs-Mets, followed by 76ers-
     Jazz.  Last night's 11:00pm ET editions of CNN/SI's "Sports
     Tonight" led with 76ers-Jazz, followed by Knicks-Sonics,
     while ESPN's "SportsCenter" led with Cubs-Mets, followed by
     Knicks-Sonics.  "Fox Sports News" reported on the XFL/NBC
     partnership at 17:48 into the broadcast, while "Sports
     Tonight" reported on it at 15:47.  "SportsCenter" did not
     report on the XFL/NBC partnership (THE DAILY).
          NOTES: Nike announced that Charles Barkley will host an
     online talk show on the Charles Barkley Network beginning
     March 31 at www.nike.com/cbn.  The new segment allows users
     to watch 30- and 60-second clips, which will be taped in
     front of a live studio audience at NikeTown in Las Vegas
     (Nike)....SI's John Ed Bradley said that he has "been
     bombarded with threatening and obscene phone calls" after
     his article about Saints RB Ricky Williams.  Bradley, a New
     Orleans resident, said, "I will never do another Saints
     article.  I don't want to go through this again.  I hate it"
     (AP, 3/30)....SportsTicker will now distribute Asian sports
     news and information from Kyodo News Int'l (SportsTicker).
