FINCHEM AGREES TO MEET WITH TPA OVER PLAYER CONCERNS

          For the "first time since the formation of the" Tour
     Players Association (TPA) in '98, the PGA Tour Policy Board
     "will meet formally with" TPA members and its legal
     representatives at an undetermined site and date, according
     to Garry Smits of the FL TIMES-UNION.  The meeting was
     "brokered" by Tour player Tom Lehman, who "became the most
     prominent player to join the TPA" last year.  Attending the
     meeting will be the Policy Board, which includes Davis Love
     III and Hal Sutton, an undetermined number of player-members
     of the TPA and TPA attorney Dennis Coleman, a partner in the
     Boston law firm of Ropes & Gray.  PGA Tour Commissioner Tim
     Finchem "will also be a part of the meeting."  Finchem
     refused to comment, but said he "may have something to say
     after the meeting" (FLORIDA TIMES-UNION, 3/23).
