hospital in his native Congo, more than 80 e-mails were sent
to the Hawks' offices "offering contributions" (SI, 3/20

Ontario Hockey League Barrie Colts coach/GM BILL STEWART was
"stripped of his GM duties after an 18-year-old Ukrainian
player was twice smuggled across the Canada-U.S. border in
the lower baggage compartment" of the team bus (THE HOCKEY
NEWS, 3/17 issue)....MN Gov. JESSE VENTURA appeared on
CNBC's "Hardball" and "fielded a question from the audience
about the way" the Internet has "contributed to the growing
problem of violence" in the U.S. Ventura: "[W]e ought to do
something about hockey. You know, hockey's the only sport I

"posse" arrived at the NBA Store 15 minutes before it opened
on Sunday to get Lakers merchandise before Sunday's game
against the Knicks. Snoop Dogg "dropped $1,500 on Lakers
