MLS TEAM NOTES: DC UNITED RETURN TO HTS; EARTHQUAKE SIGHTING

          DC United and Home Team Sports (HTS) "have reached a
     one-year deal to televise 12 games," according to Eric
     Fisher of the WASHINGTON TIMES, who noted the team is "back
     on" HTS after a year on DC's NewsChannel 8.  Fisher noted
     while ratings on DC 8 "were similar" to the team's previous
     ratings on HTS, HTS' viewer reach of 4.6 million HHS "easily
     outmatches" DC 8's 1 million HHs (WASHINGTON TIMES, 3/9).  
          TEAM NEWS: FSN will air 19 MLS Earthquakes games in the
     Bay Area, bringing the team's total live games on TV to 26. 
     FSN carried 18 of the team's games in '99 (Earthquakes)....A
     total of 22 regular season Fire games will be broadcast on
     TV this season, with two on ABC, three on ESPN2, three on
     Telemundo, 12 on FSN and two on Chicago's WCIU-WB.  Last
     season, 20 out of the team's 32 games were broadcast (Fire).
