ANGELS: In L.A., Mike DiGiovanna reported that for the
first time in team history, the Angels are including a "Good
Faith Guarantee" in their season-ticket packages this
season, allowing fans who are "not satisfied" with the team
after 16 home games to cancel their season tickets. With
season-ticket renewals down 20-25% this season, the team is
hoping to "lure a few dissatisfied Angel fans back to the
fold." No interest will be payable on the refund amounts,
and cancellation of season tickets "constitutes a waiver by
the season-ticket holder of any rights in regard to seat
locations for future seasons" (L.A. TIMES, 2/28).
T'WOLVES UP TIX PRICE: The T'Wolves' average ticket
price will increase to $36.38 next season, up from $35.54
this season. Single game tickets will range from $10-225.
Prices for the 9,201 upper-bowl seats at the Target Center
will stay the same, ranging from $10-34. Lower-bowl seats
will cost $1-25 more for individual games (ST. PAUL PIONEER
PRESS, 2/29). In Minneapolis, John Millea writes that the
presence of the first year NHL Wild next season "had little
impact" on the increase. T'Wolves President Rob Moor: "I
believe there are distinctions between fans of hockey and
fans of the NBA" (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 2/29).
IN THE VALLEY: The Suns and NFL Cardinals
"coincidentally announced ticket pricing policies"
yesterday. The Suns "will increase" prices on more than
11,000 seats in the lower bowl of America West Arena, while
"holding the line on more than" 7,500 seats in the upper
bowl. The average cost of a Suns ticket will increase to
$47.62, which will rank 15th in the NBA. Meanwhile, the
Cardinals "will keep prices at the same level" for the fifth
consecutive season (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 2/29).
