FACILITY NOTES

In Denver, Karen Abbott reported that the Pepsi Center,
"without city permission, has lowered safety rails that
enraged fans because they blocked views of games." City and
County safety inspectors "said they didn't know about the
alterations and would visit the Pepsi Center to check the
work." Abbott reported that if the "new arrangements aren't
safe, the city can order the work redone even if it means
fans in some seats can't clearly" see the game action (ROCKY
MOUNTAIN NEWS, 2/26)....In Cincinnati, Paul Brown Stadium
Project Manager Dan Streyle said that despite recent rain
damage and "some expensive additions," facility construction
is 70% complete and on schedule to open for the team's first
preseason home game August 19 (CINCINNATI ENQUIRER, 2/26).
