NBA story, at 8:55, was the Univ. of CT-St. John's Univ.
men's college basketball game (THE DAILY).
NBA: In N.Y., Bob Raissman writes that NBC Sports'
Hannah Storm's exclusive interview on Sunday of Kendall
Phills, the widow of Bobby Phills, was Storm's "finest work
since she became host of NBC's 'Showtime'" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS,
2/22)....In Dallas, Marc Stein writes that "even with the
recent signing of Dennis Rodman, it doesn't look as though
the Mavericks will be added to NBC's broadcast schedule
before the end of the season" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 2/22).
NOTES: In Toronto, William Houston writes that since
its launch January 6, ctvsportsnet.com has been "breaking
news stories." Toronto Globe & Mail columnist Marty York
has been contributing to the site (Toronto GLOBE & MAIL,
2/22)....The NBA Kings and KHTK-AM have extended their
partnership for another three years. KHTK has been the
team's flagship radio station since '94 (SACRAMENTO BEE,
     2/19)....In L.A., P.J. Huffstutter profiled Broadband
Interactive Group's (BIG) "push into the interactive TV
market," which is "meant to spur broadcasters and cable
providers into upgrading set-top boxes equipped with high-
speed chips made by Broadcom Corp." But critics are
questioning whether BIG "can remain focused enough to outwit
larger competitors, as well as succeed in the publishing and
     live-event arenas" (L.A. TIMES, 2/21).
