MULLER SPORTS GROUP'S ALL-SPORTS LATIN NETWORK KICKS OFF

          Pan-american Sports Network (PSN), "a 24-hour Spanish-
and Portuguese-language all-sports cable and satellite" TV
network based in Miami, debuted Tuesday with live coverage
of the Copa Libertadores soccer tournament, according to
Mimi Whitefield of the MIAMI HERALD, who reports that
"approximately" seven million satellite and cable
subscribers in Latin America and the Caribbean will receive
the service. Soccer will be the "signature sport" of PSN,
     comprising 60% of the network's programming. PSN's
programming lineup also includes coverage of the South
American Basketball Championship, 17 Grand Prix races, 30
events on the European PGA Tour and pro tennis. ESPN Latin
America and Fox Sports Latin America "also beam sports
programming to Latin America," but PSN execs say that "what
will differentiate PSN is its focus." PSN President & CEO
Jacques Kremer said PSN's coverage and commentary will be
"singularly focused on Latin Americans competing from a
Latin America perspective." The network's programming will
"be a mix of live events, tape-delayed events, replays, pre-
and post-game shows and news programs." PSN, which employs
"about" 75, is managed by N.Y.-based Muller Sports Group,
which oversees the Latin American sports and media interests
of Hicks Muse Tate & Furst (MIAMI HERALD, 2/16).
