FRANCHISE NOTES

WILL ROCKER AFFECT BRAVES BOTTOM LINE? Sources said
that Braves President Stan Kasten talked about the "negative
impact" that P John Rocker's remarks in SI "have had and
will have on" the team's economics during this week's
arbitration hearing on MLB's suspension of Rocker (N.Y.
TIMES, 2/11). But a Braves spokesperson told Richard Wilner
of the N.Y. POST that the team is "experiencing ticket sales
above last season and have not seen a single significant
corporate partner back out of a deal" because of Rocker's
     published comments (N.Y. POST, 2/11).
NOTES: Patriots Owner Robert Kraft, on prospective
Ravens Owner Stephen Bisciotti, who met with the NFL Finance
Committee yesterday in FL: "He was the prototype of the
perfect NFL owner in my opinion" (Baltimore SUN, 2/11).
....The WISL Portland Pythons are "expected to move to
Tacoma within weeks," as the team asked the league this week
to "shift the franchise" to the Tacoma Dome. The team is
close to a lease deal at the facility (OREGONIAN, 2/10).
