WILD LANDS OVER-THE-AIR BROADCAST DEAL; CLOSE ON RADIO PACT

The NHL expansion Wild will announce today that it has
reached a multiyear agreement with KMSP-UPN to broadcast
"more than 20 games" during the team's inaugural season in
2000-01, according to sources of Judd Zulgad of the
Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE. Sources also confirmed that the
team "is near a deal" with WCCO-AM for a "multiyear revenue-
sharing contract." Zulgad writes the deal with KMSP "is
somewhat of a surprise because carrying Wild games will
cause further preemptions of KMSP's programming," as the
station carries Twins games as well as UPN programming. The
Wild is "still in negotiations" with Midwest Sports Channel
on a cable deal (Minneapolis STAR TRIBUNE, 2/10).
