ASSANTE BUYS ANOTHER GROUP TO ADD TO ITS SPORTS REP STABLE

          Winnipeg-based Assante Corp. said Friday that it is
     acquiring N.Y.-based Klarberg, Raiola and Associates for "an
     undisclosed amount of cash plus shares that could be worth"
     C$13M after five years, according to the CP.  The new firm
     will "henceforth" be known as KRT Management Inc., and will
     provide financial planning, business management, accounting
     and tax services to "over 1,000 high-net-worth individuals,
     including about 600 athletes and entertainers."  Partners
     Barry Klarberg and Robert Raiola will remain with the
     company.  Among KRT Management's clients include: Mark
     Messier, Mike Modano, Joe Nieuwendyk and Mike Richter;
     sportscaster John Davidson; Mets P Al Leiter and NBC Sports
