YOU DON'T LOSE SILVER...STERN RESTRUCTURES HIS NEW DIVISION

          The NBA formally announced its reorganization of NBAE
     and NBAP, which will be combined under the direction of NBAE
     President ADAM SILVER (See THE DAILY, 1/17).  The new group
     will include the NBA/WNBA's TV, film, Internet, publishing,
     photos, consumer products, marketing partnerships, media
     properties and event relationships domestically and
     internationally.  As part of the reorganization, former NBA
     Senior VP/Int'l TV and Business Development HEIDI UEBERROTH
     will become Exec VP/Global Media Properties and Marketing
     Partnerships.  In addition, former NBAE Senior
     VP/Programming & Exec Producer GREGG WINIK will become Exec
     VP/Programming & Exec Producer (NBA).
          ALL-STAR SUMMIT: The NBA All-Star 2000 Technology
     Summit: The Future of Sports Programming will take place at
     the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in S.F. on February 11 during All-
     Star Weekend.  The series of panel discussions will feature
     entertainment and media industry execs who will talk about
     sports programming in the digital age, including debates on
     branding, content development, strategic alliances and new
     media business models.  Event moderators will be NBC's BOB
     COSTAS, AHMAD RASHAD and TIM RUSSERT.  Among the event
     participants are NBC President BOB WRIGHT, Yahoo! President
     & COO JEFFREY MALLETT, Broadband CEO RICHARD NANULA,  Mavs
     Owner MARK CUBAN, NBC Sports Chair DICK EBERSOL, Oracle
     Chair & CEO LARRY ELLISON (NBA).
